What is Google NotebookLM?
NotebookLM is a free AI tool by Google that reads your uploaded documents and turns them into summaries, study notes, flashcards, quizzes and even audio podcasts.
Unlike ChatGPT, it only uses the documents you upload — so the answers are always accurate and relevant to your content.
What You Need to Get Started
A free Google account
A PDF, document or article you want to study
5 minutes

Step 1 — Open NotebookLM
Go to notebooklm.google.com and sign in with your Google account.
Click "New Notebook" and give it a name — for example: "Biology Exam Notes" or "Marketing Research"
Step 2 — Upload Your PDF
Click "Add Sources" on the left side panel.
You can upload:
PDF files
Google Docs
YouTube video links
Website URLs
Audio files
I usually upload 2-3 PDFs at once for the same topic. NotebookLM reads all of them together and connects the information.
Step 3 — Ask It Questions
Once your PDF is uploaded, just type questions in the chat like:

"What are the 5 most important points in this document?"
"Explain chapter 3 like I'm a beginner"

Step 4 — Generate Study Notes Automatically
